A slight explosion at the home of H. A Martin on Hust Avenue Wednesday evening occurred when a gasoline stove was refilled with coal oil by mistake after Mrs Martin ordered gasoline. Neighbors alerted the fire department. no serious injuries were reported and the fire department found the danger passed upon arrival. The house is owned by Mrs Bruce.
The Eastern Heights Land Co denies any relation between a ravine nuisance and its allotment area. They state the ravine lies about a half mile from the Eastern Heights allotment and is not connected to the new sewer project or residents east of the plateau, clarifying misperceptions.
The Merry Makers club held its first meeting and elected officers Lea Taylor president Charles H Savage vice president Oscar Hasenrodt secretary and Alvin Ploker treasurer. They plan a ten dance series at Elk's hall with Pomeroy's orchestra. First dance date not definite.

State Insurance Commissioner Vorys said he will review the Attorney General opinion that life insurers must have the full authorized capital stock approved before doing business in Ohio. Union Central Life, led by president John M. Pattison, shows $500,000 authorized capital with only $100,000 paid. George Wortho named guardian of Anna Hatrack of Lorain under a $400 bond.
The Elyria trolley league team was honored with a Wednesday banquet at Carpenter's Hall in Wiyma. Over fifty fans attended as Captain Koehle received the C and B W silver cup trophy, with owners Lawrence, Braman, and Koehle sharing the prize. Music, stories, and humorous antics complemented the celebration of a season best finish.
