City officials weigh using city hall land for a new library with Andrew Carnegie funds cited as key. A local group urges keeping the old council offices, arguing a public library would fulfill demand for a better facility and utilize available rooms.
City officials debate whether issuing more bonds this year will hinder planned sewer projects. An election may be required for funding, with concerns over legal limits and voter resistance. The West Side sewer plan, estimated at around 50 000 dollars, could be deferred if bonds are blocked.
Mrs. George Crisp of Klytia and Capt. Cowley of Lorain were appointed members of the county board of visitors by Judge Washburn Friday. The six members visit public institutions and oversee their care.

County Auditor Lewie, former board secretary, completed totals for Lake Shore railroad valuation. State total 14,596,498 dollars with county valuation 1,269,940 dollars, noting past presentation errors and mileage of 1,145.76 miles statewide and 91.78 miles in the county.
C M Braman son and Mrs Sophia Braman widow of the late Wm A Braman were appointed administrators of his estate by Judge Hiaman on Friday.
Sailor Joe Short recounts fourteen years at sea and a worsening foot injury. He explains a marine hospital discharge, a botched layoff, and a transfer to the Tampa then Sandusky for treatment. With only 1.75 dollars, he plans to reach Cleveland for surgery and asks the mayor for help.
The choir of St Andrew's Episcopal Alebu eh will present a special musical program Sunday afternoon at o'clock. Soloists Mrs Stacy Miller Mr Waiter Davies Misa Dake, a duet by Misa Adana and Mr Jones, organ by Mine Olmated and six anthems by the choir including Ash Belvan to Dawn Hosanna and Alpha and Omega. Also advertised: lace trimmed skirts from The Biggs land Kvarard Co priced at 98 cents each.
Ed Kaneen and the Walkers departed on the 11:80 car to Wallington to take the Big Four railway train back to the penitentiary. Their wives and relatives followed them Thursday night but were not at the jail when they left Friday morning under guard.

Mike Moscovia of Hankyville was bound over to common pleas court by Mayor Folger for burglary and larceny. He allegedly entered a B and C freight car in April, stole a cabinet and other goods, moved his furniture to Cleveland, and was seized at the depot as he prepared to depart for Cleveland by a B and C officer.
Two games are scheduled for Decoration Day at Athletic Park. The morning game starts at 10 a.m. and the afternoon match at 4 30 p.m. The events involve the Wooster Glanta and Mr J M McVey and family of Lima moving to the city.
The Trolley League season began in heavy rain as Elyria edged Medina 2 to 1 in five innings. Attendance reached about 600, Mayor Folger tossed the first ball, and mud hampered play at the new tall park. Pitcher TeLinde held the visitors to four hits while Medina’s defense showed flashes of skill despite the soggy field. The opening night drew local fans hopeful for a strong season as Wooster Giants visit next Tuesday.
In compliance with orders the ladies of the G A R will serve refreshments on Memorial Day in Hayden hall to Civil War soldiers. Elijah Hayden Best and all dolmrades are invited. The ladies of the ALR will meet Sunday May 30 in Hayden Hall.

The local Masonic lodge conferred the third degree on five new members Friday afternoon. A dinner will be given tonight by the lodge. Mrs J H Miller of Earlcourt will spend Saturday in Norwalk at the home of Mrs Young and her daughter Mrs Blanche Summers.
