A chaotic transcript centers on Worth facing a bucket shop law challenge as witnesses describe margin trades and supposed deliveries. The defense signals constitutional issues while prosecutors note alleged manipulation and unclear ownership of stocks and commodities.
The Republican city central committee fixed June 8 as the primary date for city nominations and township posts. Elections will select a mayor, city council, treasurer, solicitor, and board of public service, plus township officials including road supervisors and constables. The ballot covers city and township races with multiple wards and districts listed.
Kaneen Dana Walker and H B Walker returned to the county jail amid muted greetings from Lyrians and Lorain friends. Relatives stayed away but the trio appeared in good spirits, sharing a meal and chatting with guards as they awaited trial on stock fraud margins and bucket shop distinctions.
Justice O C Lord has withdrawn from the mayoralty race. The candidate, who three weeks earlier said he would remain in the contest, announced on Wednesday that he had thrown up the sponge.
The candidate pool for the race has reduced to Clayton Chapman and David Koxel after a Wilder withdrawal. The remaining contenders vow focus on the contest, with one participant declining further comment and noting the race shift in favor of Chapman.
Before adjournment Tuesday afternoon a jury was properly impaneled to try WoJ Worth. The jury consists of George Puy of Ruralia, J. Webber Avon, Frank Curtize Wellington, BR Sweet Elyna. Ed. Benant LaGrange, Frank Davidson Kipton, Fred Gove Lorain, David Peters Wellington, Frank Briggs Kipton, J B Warden Kipton, Sudro and Charles Tite Flyna.
Peter J Osterman of Avon sues for alienation of affection against Eugene Mitchell claiming he married Philomena Osterman in 1546 and lived together at Avon until May 8 when alienation occurred He later files for divorce charging his wife with driving him from home carousing with other men striking him and threatening his life He alleges she kept company with other men sold wines from his cellar and that he owns real estate livestock and wine and seeks restraint on her selling them.
Lorain county's Republican delegates left for Columbus Wednesday morning. The group attended a special event in tan hose, ladies plain, fine, and polka dots. The Biges and Evarard Co.
