Mrs Morehouse On Trial For Her Life
The first day of the murder trial of Mrs. Ana Morehouse, the Lorain Woman, in Wooster for murder, yielded little. The jury is being culled with care, only five of many passing the test by both sides. Attorney Adams questions jurors on capitol punishment as Mrs. Morehouse watches closely while the coroner and undertaker connected to the case are now deceased, leaving a largely unfamiliar set of officials. The case concerns a child taken from a Cleveland home, alleged illegitimacy, and claims of a father in Elyria, with uncertainty surrounding the child’s origins and its burial in Brookwood Cemetery in Lorain.
