Four Injured In Runaway On Broad Street
Four young people were injured when a Surrey horse runaway occurred near the Lake Shore Bridge on Broad Street. Mintle Jaques, eighteen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jaques, was reported near death. Miss Josephina Platt, eighteen, suffered severe scalp and facial wounds. John Hyreoman, forty four, had scalp bruises. Chorley Smith, twenty one, sprained left leg and bruises. The carriage toppled, all four were hospitalized, with the Jaques girl showing slight improvement by Monday morning.

Three Year Old Dies From Burns in Harod Street Tragedy
Marion Henke, three year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Henke of Harod Street, died Sunday morning in a hospital from burns sustained while playing with matches and a lamp. The child had been taken to the hospital Saturday with hopes of saving her life, but the burns were too severe. The girl’s funeral is planned for Tuesday morning at 3 o'clock at the Catholic church.
