A Special meeting discussed having the Barber people finish Middle avenue paving. No action on the motion. The board considered paying old water department bills if lawful. Mrs Crowell Says Husband Left Her In Elyria

Mrs Ethel Crowell claims Bert Crowell abandoned their family after a March 17 wire repair call. A newborn child arrived Sunday night as manager J C Tyson helped locate care for the mother and child. Crowell, 24, disappeared, with his Lorain mother reportedly supporting the first born. Tyson vows to find housing for the family.

Child Drinks Carbolic Acid in Accidental Tragedy

The three year old daughter of W P Taylor of Ridge Street drank carbolic acid from a bottle kept on a shelf. She swallowed some of the acid, causing severe burns and unconsciousness. doctors fear she may die from the poison.

City legal victory affirms ownership of Tuzcarawas Street

City Solicitor W B Johnston announced Judge Hayden’s ruling in the Tuzcarawas Street dispute in favor of the city. The decision held that a common law dedication by the railroad and others granted the city half the street, permanently enjoining George Persons from continuing building extensions.
