Amos Steck of Pittsburg closed the Union Brass Works property on Thursday, with papers conveying the site to the purchaser. The $60,000 price was paid, and bids will be advertised to raise the buildings. The plant, once a Lorain landmark, employed up to 500 people before closing in the 1893 panic, and was recently bought by a brass works syndicate for speculative purposes.
