Case Dismissed and Re-arrested in Hound Theft Case
Jacob Wallecker was arrested by Officer Whitney for stealing a hound from Severn Ott. Ott agreed not to prosecute if costs were paid. Wallecker traveled to Lorain with Constable Cahoon to raise money and was rearrested for a misdemeanor by Lorain police.

Freight derailed on B&O line near city limits

Six year old George Westlay kidnapped by unknown woman

Missing farmer’s rig found after dawn recovery
Farmer Chris Ott reported his horned rig missing after visiting Elyria on Wednesday. He left the rig hitched to a fence at the Daisy Field allotment and it was not found until Thursday morning when Patrolman Smith recovered it in front of Lamison's meat market. The owner seeks the rightful finder and warns of prosecution for theft.

The Lake Shore and Michigan Southern will unveil two fast trains with a spring schedule reducing the New York to St Louis trip to about twenty six hours. Badly Mangled at the Fox Furnace
W M Smith of Fox Furnace Company was badly mangled Wednesday morning when his clothing caught in a moving machine. He was drawn in, suffered head and shoulder injuries and a crushed left arm. Taken to hospital, surgery took nearly two hours. Smith, about thirty five, with a wife and several children, remains in precarious condition.

Jack Steel a shipyard fitter, about forty and unmarried, killed himself Wednesday afternoon at Chris Critz saloon on Fifth Street Lorain after drawing a revolver from behind the bar.
