Valentine Phelps of Lorain Street Railway had a close call Thursday at 1 PM crossing Nickel Plate tracks. He slipped in front of an electric car after switching derailing levers. the motorman braked and reversed, stopping before the wheels. Phelps escaped with a sprained ankle and was helped up by friends. he lives on Lake Avenue.
Revival services are underway with Dr. Dawson preaching at both. A 3 o clock meeting for men and boys will feature Dr. Dawson and others. A male quartet will lead singing.
Minnie L. Larimer seeks divorce from Charles KE, claiming two years of marriage with habitual drunkenness for three years and failure to provide. She alleges extreme crustiness and a threat to shoot her. She requests restoration of her maiden name Minnie L. Polang. Thompson and Gluegh represent her.

Thieves broke into the yard office of the B and O on Friday night and stripped the telephones of bells receivers and everything connected therewith. No clue to the identity of the thieves in the confession of the authorizing official.
President C.3 Jewell of Jewell Filter Company inspected the Elyria and Lorain filter plants at Lorain on Monday. Chemist Brown, in charge, said the Elyria Plant, operating for three weeks, showed an average purity of 98.65 percent.

Stockholders of Cah Mining Company in Boulder Colorado hear news of a large ore body struck on a 250 foot lead yielding $54 per ton. Most stockholders are Elyria residents. A separate note recalls Sydney Smith challenging Sir Archibald McDonald to preach at St Pauls Cathedral.

Eddie Larson a fifteen year old who stole a horse and baggy from O W Hurd of Dover last Saturday and was arrested at Wellington appeared before Judge Callaghan in the juvenile court at Cleveland on Friday morning He admitted the theft but said he wished to leave his employer He was assigned a new job with another farmer who values his interest in horses and care of them.
