Evangelist James Small led a four week revival at Fourth of Total Christ Church converting 107 members, mainly youths. Schaffert Case Not Dropped to Be First Grand Jury Probe

The county prosecutor has not dropped the case against Charles Schaffert, Cheapside saloon keeper, as no report was filed by the last grand jury. The jury did not take up the case because the man who injured him was hospitalized. The next grand jury meets April 3 and Schaffert’s case will be among the first investigated. 73 Year-Old Woman Falls Into Cellar

A 73 year-old widow of Lodi Street, Mrs Willard, was seriously injured when a defective cellar door knob caused her to plunge down the stairs Thursday evening. She showed no fatal injuries but suffered internal trauma feared. her condition was uncertain Friday morning.
