Lake Shore Electric plans a major bid to control Lorain Street Railway traffic between Elyria and Cleveland. Survey work on a route from South Lorain to Beach Park progresses. Projections claim Elyria to Cleveland could drop travel time by about one half hour, via a private right of way. Additional Lake Shore cars are expected tonight with more next week.
The council will consider an ordinance to compel the G and S W traction ring to vacate the Rust bridge and a second reading of an ordinance to forfeit the $5,000 bond of the beating company. Councilmen Smith and Baker oppose the vacate plan, favoring the bridge improvement.

Dispatches from Pittsburg report United States Steel plans a general wage increase across its operations in the United States. About 170,000 workers may be affected with an estimated $12,000,000 added in pay, possibly taking effect around April 1. The date is not yet fixed.
Martin Laver won about $1500 against William T. Beal as administrator of Arras East by pass. The ten day hearing featured forty witnesses with a jury verdict Friday evening. Thowar O. Gurnsey filed a common pleas court suit Tuesday against Tagaie Elder Willam Bornam for 4018.70 claiming that sum is due on Vernin property they purchased from him. He asks the court to appoint a receiver for the property as the defendants are in default under a land contract with unperformed conditions.
A city official spoke at a chamber of commerce meeting on Tuesday saying bonded indebtedness exceeds the lawful limit. Judge Nya noted the present law caps bonded debt at 8 percent of valuation, while earlier bonds existed before the Longworthy act and are not made illegal by the new restriction.
John Salreous and Bert Mablerger were each fined five dollars and cast by Mayor Folger Tuesday morning for intoxication.
