Norwalk Steel Plant Nears First Steel Run

The Norwalk Steel and Iron Company prepares to begin operations with a wood fire in the open hearth furnace to dry and test the system. Gas connections will be completed, Montag gas will be turned into the furnace, and the first steel run is expected by mid next week, marking the plant as an active facility.
