State Engineer Reviews New Sewer System Plans

Arthur Rose spent a night in jail for contempt of court and was released after a judge lectured him. He refused to obey court orders and kept his wife Tally from leaving his house while she was ill as she sought divorce.

Horse Trainer Hurts Eyes in Iron Blow Accident

Oberlin June 21 Chas Luther a well known race horse trainer residing in Oberlin suffered a fearful accident yesterday. While striking hot iron on an anvil a fragment flew and struck him below the eye. The eyeball was damaged and the man was taken to Cleveland to save the other eye.

Worker suffers finger crush and eye injury at steel plant

At Elyria Leon Jand Steel Works J Kutaski crushed his middle finger and required treatment by Dr Cushing. Theodore Gale sustained a bad eye wound from particles from a memory wheel during the morning shift.

Stolen buggy found by police in county road

A buggy and harness evidently stolen were found by police in the road at Coonville Saturday morning. Footprints of the fed horse pressed in the earth show the vehicle had been used, and officers are now seeking the person from whom the rig was taken.

Judge Hinman ordered a Rochester woman, an epileptic for some time, sent to the asylum for epileptics at Gallipolis due to crowded conditions, after previous inability to place her there.

The school board granted the contract for building the Sixth Street school house to Red Wolf and the contract for installing plumbing and heating apparatus to O C Weaver. Both were the lowest bidders for the work.

Acid in eye injures Weaver's worker saved by doctor

George Eason of Weaver's plumbing shop spilled diluted imuarimatic acid into his right eye this morning causing severe burning. Dr Cushing likely saved his eyesight. Mrs Janamours won $50 temporary alimony from Henry Moore. Movure, 83, and his wife’s divorce case put over until Thursday.

Neipfoot Divorce Decree Granted in Washburn Court

The Neipfoots were divorced by Judge Washburn on Friday. Mrs Trenry Neipfoot regains her maiden name Bessie Smallwood. The case followed public allegations of unfaithfulness by Mrs Neipfoot and an arrest involving S Ault. Neipfoot withdrew his petition and did not contest the decree.

County School Institute Dates at Elyria High School

The county school teachers institute will be held at Elyria high school from August 28 to September 11. About 25 teachers are expected to attend. The institute will discuss matters pertaining to school instruction and includes payment for attending teachers.

Benton Property Sells Third Time at Levitt Road Sale

Attorney Westenhaver of Cleveland buys the Benton property in Lorain on Levitt road at Sheri's sale for 9000 dollars. Seventy five acres in Sheffield township sell for 600 to Lewis and Frankie A Sites to satisfy a judgment in the case of Lerseh ys Gilson. The Benton property previously sold last spring for about 8000 then 14000 but sales set aside due to publication and purchaser issues.
