The town council met Tuesday amid remonstrances from residents of West Second Street over Chestnut Street grade changes. Discussion revealed the grade was lowered slightly, not raised, prompting questions about responsibility and plans. A sprinkling petition for East Avenue was referred to the street committee. Miss Varian Brigge daughter of Samuel and Mrs Brigges of Huolidavenne Cleveland wed Arthur Drysdale Seton in a Tuesday evening ceremony at the bride’s parents home. Rev George Williams officiated at 7 20 with about sixty guests including Rose Gibbons maid of honor and J Walter Lersott best man. After a reception the couple plans an Eastern trip and will reside on Middle avenue in Elyria.
Bonfire in the rear of Mrs S M Fulton’s home on Washington Avenue produced heavy smoke prompting neighbors to alert the fire department. Fire officials blocked the rear yard as smoke and flames led to an alarm though the blaze did not spread beyond the yard.
Dignified services were held Tuesday morning at St. John’s Catholic Church Lorain for Rev A H Alten. It drew the largest Lorain funeral to date with over thirty priests from across the state. His brothers Rev Clement Alten Toledo and Rev Joseph Alten Navarre led the rites as celebrant and deacon. A solemn requiem high mass followed the office of the dead with eulogy by Rev J F Schoffeld Elyria. Priests from Cleveland Massillon and other cities participated in the extensive service.
Belden Cleverdon has returned from an expedition with Indians. Miss Mabel Terry of Wallington visited friends over Sunday. Miss Peal Nei? hog conducts a class of fifteen music scholars. Commencement exercises will be held in the M E church on Thursday evening. Mr Webbler of Elyria will give the class address. About thirty neighbors surprised the Heaths with ice cream and cake Saturday evening. Children’s day exercises will be observed at the M E church next Sunday evening.

They challenge judge Webber on the provisional sentences, alleging false imprisonment and complain of detective methods in trapping them.
