Chicago dispatches report the Lake Shore road will move its general offices from Cleveland to Chicago once the new terminal station is finished, expected by December 1902. A cow owned by BE. N. Walker of Henrietta was struck by lightning and killed Thursday while alongside a barbed wire fence. The bolt traveled along the fence to reach the ground. Nearby, Jacob Wideman reported his granary at Henrietta partly shattered by the same lightning strike.
On account of a state bar association meeting at Put-in-Bay July 13 the judicial convention for this district moves to Thursday July 18 at Medias. The precinct caucuses across the district are postponed to Tuesday evening July 16.

Solomon Eppley sued The Newark L. 8. M. S. B. R. for damages after his cow was struck and killed by a railroad train. A verdict for the plaintiff was returned in Hayden’s court, upheld on appeal to the common pleas, following earlier juries’ disagreement. E.G. Johnson represented the railroad, Fritz Rudin for the plaintiff.
Commodore W. R. Huntington’s naphtha launch Thelma, sailed by Huntington and crew from Greenport to Buffalo and Lorain, arrived at Lorain at 7 o’clock Wednesday evening to a rousing welcome. The vessel, noted for its rakish lines and luxury pilot house, carries accommodations for eleven and will be based in Sandusky for planned lake cruising excursions.

The line is pitched as an eastern outlet of Wheeling and Lake Erie and has drawn rail advocacy. Townsend plans to return to Elyria to live.
Fred Scheide of East Fourth Street suffered a painful injury Friday while working on a trench under the walk by Robinson and Hancock's store. A stone slab held up by a lever slipped as Scheide reached under it, trapping his fingers and nearly severing one. He will be sidelined for a day or two.
Mrs Caroline Strong Mussey widow of Edwin E. Mussey died in North Adams Masy Tuesday. Funeral services will be at First Congregational church Elyria Thursday at 2 PM. Remains arrived Wednesday noon via Lake Shore road. Her life began in Elyria and she lived in North Amherst and Florida with her family. Her father Dr Samuel Strong was a longtime prominent physician.

Minerva Bradly Ada Hailes Chas Williams Dellwood Williams and iFred Williams sue Chas A Twining and Perry E Twining to recover two Camden township land parcels of 50 and 10 acres. They allege denial of possession since March 11 1901 after H C Williams died, claiming by grandfather J D Williams will. Father held life interest and sold land by warranty deed to successors who sold to the Twinings.
