Mayor Thomas Folger issues proclamation prohibiting throwing and selling confetti in Elyria streets after three nights of disorder. Offenders will be charged with disorderly conduct. Enforced to the letter to curb indecent conduct and public safety concerns.
Severe weather bulletin forecasts disturbances crossing the continent from August 1 to August 3 with warm and cool waves moving across the Rockies and eastern states. A period of low temperatures and general rains follows, with storm intensity rising and affecting the mid Atlantic European steamship route around August 12 making sea travel unsafe.
The report notes a storm wave will be preceded and followed by soul weather and the hot wave will not stay long, signaling brief shifts in atmospheric mood and temperature.

Swindeman William H Swindeman a Cleveland division foreman and Bessie J Jaliueon of Mallet Orsek were married by Reverend Jesse Hill at his Medina home on Wednesday morning July 20. The couple planned to reside with the groom’s parents on Maple street Elyria. The bride wore a white India linen gown with lace and carried white carnations. An elegant dinner followed with about twenty guests. A Shoninger piano was presented by the groom.
The Lorain County Firemen's association convention and tournament will be in Oberlin. The village board of commerce plans lavish reception and entertainment for visiting firemen and guests, abandoning the board picnic to focus funds and energy on the event. An executive committee was appointed with power to form all other required committees.
John Slater of Butternut Ridge leapt to stop a runaway wagon on West avenue near Lake Shore tracks. He grabbed a horse bridle and was dragged along briefly as the frightened team halted. The three men in the wagon escaped injury and thanked him. names of the men were not available. Also, Lewis D. Boynton was appointed guardian of Helen Flannagan’s estate with a $200 bond.
The fifth annual Lutheran volksfest will be at Cedar Point on August 2 with huge crowds anticipated as the resort hosts church events. Excursion trains will bring thousands. a chorus under Rev. W. H. Lehman will lead, and speakers include Bas O. Bachman Rev H. P. Dannecker Prof B. Pfeiffer Rev W. S. Schuette and Rev G. Dillman.
