A motorman Peter Laces was arrested after a child was killed on the track near the G S line. A mob gathered by the car and menaced the crew, the crowd shouting threats and attempting to seize the motorman. Police intervened to disperse the crowd and restore order.
G and S W Motorman Sam Wallace is discharged in Cleveland amid claims by union men that the company and Concon are colluding to remove union members. Wallace, who operated a car between Elyria and Cleveland, faced intoxication charges denied by workers, with a union meeting pledging support and a bound-for-union presentation of the case.
Avon Beach and Southern Rail Road Co filed two appropriation suits in probate court to acquire land in Avon. Cases target Coonrod and Mary Burkhart and Andrew and Coonrod Burkhart who own parcels in sections three and four with Burkhart dower rights and a $400 mortgage on part of the property. The petition states the railroad needs possession to build the line and cannot obtain a settlement with the defendants.

A G A R five and five west car ran down and killed a girl on Lorain Street last evening. The vehicle struck Armbruster s bakery wagon on Lake avenue near School street en route to Lorain. Driver Albert Troeach was thrown out and suffered a severe foot sprain. one wagon wheel broke.

Mrs. Alfonso Alten of Avon asks the mayor to cancel a sworn arrest warrant claiming she has not received support for herself and two minor children in two years. She says Alten, now a Lorain butcher, threatened to kill her if she prosecutes, and cites trips to California since their separation in December.
