Gas Franchise Passed by Tassdays Council in Tossup Vote

The amended natural gas franchise cleared final passage without dissent. It sets initial rates at 33 venta per thousand feet or 30 cents if paid within ten days, with gradual increases over five years. The city may buy the plant after expiration, with a three-arbitrator price split. Five miles of service required by January 1 with extensions mandated at 100 feet per new consumer. Married couple Collins and Rhodes wed in Lorain hotel parlor

Edward Collins and Mary Rhodes, prominent Elyria residents, were married Tuesday evening in the Hotel Armstrong parlor in Lorain with Mayor King officiating. The ceremony ended with a campaign supper and dance and many costly presents were given.

Woman Sues Traction Co for 5000 Damages

Nettie Baker sues Cleveland South Western Traction Co in Common Pleas for 5000 damages claiming she boarded a car January 6, 1902 at Berea and was allowed to alight at a dangerous point four to five feet from the ground, causing several severe injuries. Cheap gas eyed as Logan gas group plans start

A. E. Hay of Citizens' Gas and Electric says if the franchise is granted Tuesday night natural gas service would begin in September. The plan includes a rate of 256 cents per thousand cubic feet until May 1, 1904 to attract customers and a transfer of part of the stock to Logan Gas and Fuel Co for board representation.
