Fast Lake Shore Flyer to Boost Transcontinental Mail Time
The Lake Shore announces a new train to debut Sunday February 4. Train No 1 will depart Chicago at 11 AM with four light cars designed for high speed and will gain early arrival of transcontinental mail at New York. It will overtake the line’s fastest service and includes a straight 71 mile stretch from Butler Indiana optimized for 85 mph.
