Passengers in an Oberlin to Elyria car watched four intoxicated men stack into the smoking compartment with large bottles bulging from pockets. One slept, another yelled for George Washington, while two sang and jabbed each other in time as they staggered toward home. They finally toppled, recovered, and wandered off toward a place to drink more, as nightlights of a prohibition town appeared.

Fatal fall of log wagon victim ends in hospital death
Mr F H Stocking who was injured when a wagon loaded with logs toppled as he walked beside it died in Lorain hospital from blood poisoning. A leg injury led to amputation and his death at age 41. Stroke Strikes Local Hostler Near St Andrew's Church
Joseph Valerine suffered a paralytic stroke on his way home from work Tuesday evening. He collapsed on the icy sidewalk in front of St Andrew's church at Middle avenue and Third street about 5:45. A passerby on a wheel chair stopped to aid him, lifting his head into his lap until help arrived. Valerius, a hostler for George L. Bivins, had recently been ill but had returned to work. The stroke is regarded as very serious.
