Parks Foster, Lorain County Banker, Dies in Tennessee

Hon Parke Foster born Sept 4 1888 Lorain County banker and early railroad and canal promoter died in Chatanooga Tennessee after a sudden pneumonia attack at age 72. He left Lorain two weeks earlier with his wife and daughter for a winter southward and was survived by four children.

Plans Four Week Campaign for Souls at Discipto Church

A four week revival begins Sunday at Discipto church led by Rev James Small an evangelist and Leonard Dougherty with a noted writer and Rey sil. Services run each night at the church with pastors aiming to win converts. Rev. Stall is described as a young energetic man recently finishing a successful Wilmington campaign.

Beckwith Funeral Arrangements From Oberlin Bank Leader

Funeral services for Beckwith will be at his North Pleasant Street home at 3 p.m. next Wednesday. Rev De H M Tenney of the Second Congregational church will lead, with six bank directors serving as pallbearers. Interment is in Westwood cemetery. The absence of Cashier A B Spear from Oberlin to visit Beckwith is noted and discussion ends with doubt over Spear’s defense after Beckwith’s death.

John Schabele was sued in common pleas court by T. H. Copa who alleges Bohaibele refuses to pay 1600 dollars on a promissory note. The note was delivered in Elyria October 21, 1904 and was due in three months.

Mr French to Lecture at Oberlin on Prison Secrets

Husband Tells Wife to Leave in 1908 Divorce Petition

Mrs Lala Hemingway files for divorce in common pleas court citing repeated abuse by James H Hemingway. She alleges blows to the face on April 6 1908 and other assaults including being kicked and thrown to the floor. She seeks custody of two children and notes the couple married July 16 1895 in Mazailan and that she now lives in Lorain while he resides in Washington Pennsylvania.

Tom Miller On Trial For Cutting In Lorain

Tom Miller, colored, facing trial before Judge Washburn and the jury on a charge of cutting to wound. His wife testified with a scarred face as a witness, alleging he slashed her with a razor during a drunken frenzy. She remains permanently disfigured from the injuries.
