Elyria Water Works Debate Delayed to Friday Session

Elyria council adjourned after approving pay funds totaling 1470.89 and postponing a key waterworks resolution. A special session will reconvene Friday to debate hiring engineers to study lake Erie versus alternate sources and a proposed empounding reservoir south of town.

Health board regulations require physicians or others attending contagious cases to notify within twelve hours and for the health officer to place a prominent disease card on affected houses. Lake Shore Policeman Hopfinger Appointed for Three Years

Michael Hopfinger of Lake Shore is named a policeman for the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern railway for a three year term starting January 35th. Governor Nash issued the commission, signed by H. M. Shaul and State officials, stamping the document in Ohio. A Lorain theft report follows: Henry Koble's horse and buggy, left hitched on a Lorain street, vanished last Saturday night. A strange rig was found on Cheapside, taken to Biving livery stable, and later identified as the stolen property. Officer Whitney recovered the property before thieves were known. The Lorain County Medical Society will meet Tuesday February Mt at 2 p.m. at Hotel Franklin parlors. Dr. R. E Skeol will speak on obstetrics. All physicians in the county urged to attend.

New Rural Delivery Route west from Lorain planned

The post office will establish a free rural delivery route west from Lorain extending to Oak Point and the ridge. The 26 mile route serves about 250 families. Elijah Hayden Post No 49 GAR will meet Friday evening February to install officers at headquarters. KF. Caywood has rented store room on West Broad Street ready for business around February 1.

Elyria to study water sources and plant costs

The Elyria city council resolves to hire a civil engineer to investigate water source options including a plant at Butternut Ridge, weighing durability purity and operating costs. Heating Franchise Passed in Elyria Council Debate

Mr. McCreery of the Yaryan system urged a minimum 16 cent rate for hot water heating to avoid losses. He warned that 12 or 13 4 cents could not cover costs and argued extensions to suburbs require fair pricing.
