Protesters along Washington Avenue push for a permanent fix to the crumbling bridge as the council orders repairs. The board plans a nine meter stone cap and notes Lake Shore tracks have been raised without city permission, while leaders defend prior plans and blame others for the grade issue.
A landmark land sale closes as J G Crisp and Company broker the largest deal yet for Win A Ely and Arthur D Pettibone of Cleveland. The 300 plus acre tract south of the east branch of Bisok River near Elyria joins Eastern Heights Land Company, newly incorporated in Cleveland and Elyria, with Cann Braman Dr Chas Cushing and others involved. The land, once owned by the Ely family for ninety seven years, sits near schools and churches, free of smoke and dirt, and will be parceled for market.
