Judge G Washburn rejects Vander Burnau’s medical excuse for failing to appear in Wellington. Burnau’s bond of 9000, signed by Lewis Schmerer at the Lyric Bottling works, is forfeited to prevent setting a dangerous precedent. Arrest papers issued for Burnau.
In Elyria a local charity event saw about 200 children fill the theatre for a Santa Claus visit. Businessmen and Rev. Withycombe organized gifts and performances by Harmony and Hayden quartets. Santa spoke, distributed toys, and all children received at least one present, bringing joy to the crowd.
