Brighton reports show the Ladies Aid of White Fox church met at Mrs J Cowie last Thursday despite bad roads. An oyster supper occurred at Mrs Jickels home Friday night. Day and family visited Steve in Clarksfield. Jason and Gillett celebrated their 556th wedding anniversary on Pleasant Street. Mackuves held an oyster supper at C D Stockings Friday. Leon Loveland entertained with a graphophone at East Creek School on Butler Road Friday.
West Ridge residents report Mr. Wachs of Oberlin preaching last evening as Mr. Moore was called away. Jessie Squire visited her parents on the Ridge Sunday. Neighborly gatherings continue on the ridge. Mrs Baldauf prepares scholars for Chrismas Eve recitations. Mr Satliff, a 76 year old, attended the Farmers Institute at Pittfield despite bad weather. Robert Mason is able to return to school. The Sims children who were ill are much improved.
Carlisle residents note Mrs Sarah Falmer from New York is ill with fever while Mrs Moore visits her mother Mrs Beach. Mr J Lanteberry visited his Brunswick daughter last week. About fifty friends celebrated Henry and Smith's twenty fifth anniversary with gifts and a pleasant supper.
LaPorte report notes the M E church Ladies Aid to be hosted by Mrs. Wm Pitkins on Thursday December 19 with dinner served. Guests include Mr Wm Pitkins and wife with ER E Humphrey family recent visitors. Also Disciples Church Ladies Aid to meet at Mrs S A Powers home on Thursday December 19.
