Money and Myth of the Newspaper Editor

Taken to the Work House After Escape Attempt
The county jail reduced prisoner numbers as several inmates were released. Fred Shepard, George Penny and Lawrence Green were sent to Mansfield by reformatory guards. On Thursday Charles O Neil was moved to the Cleveland work house for four months. Authorities believe he attempted an escape during transfer. O Neil told fellow prisoners he would not enter the workhouse. Sheriff Warden and the group drew attention on the trip with many Indy passengers watching the handcuffed inmate. At the Cleveland gates O Neil sighed and said he was glad the trip was over and joked about the crowd.
