Government work at Loran harbor makes steady progress
The harbor project advances with good weather, about 15000 yards dredged though total 120000 cubic yards remains. A spring breakwater plan involves a crib structure filled with stone to three feet underwater, then concrete rising six to eight feet above water. The lake-facing side may be sloped, but likely not. Col. Smith says stone and concrete breakwaters offer the most lasting design.

City temperance meeting backs screen ordinance at First Congregational

Quincy Frink a wealthy young farmer of Amherst township must pay Mary Easter of Cleveland four thousand six hundred dollars for breach of promise. The jury found he wooed and won her but failed to fulfill the contract. Win Hill a railroad man of Lorain died at his parents home in Warren from an illness.
