New Trial Denied Baker Given Six Years
The jury in the county court denied a motion for a new trial in the case of D W Baker convicted of rape. Judge Washburn overruled the motion at 2 p.m. and sentenced him to six years in the penitentiary. The defense presented alibi and witness affidavits as the case proceeds to the Circuit Court.
