Gans Nelson bout excitement in Goldfield
Goldfield Nevada grows feverish as promoter bets on a big fight. The town thrives on saloons and gambling with hundreds of games and large liquor licenses fueling revenue while plans for a bout between Joe Gans and Nelson unfold. Local bankers, mine owners, and saloon men unite to back the event. Referee George Siler is chosen, and training camps set with Lundie, Clifford, and McDonald aiding Nelson. Jimmy Britt predicts a Gans victory, citing tactical accuracy and counterpunching.
