Man From Prison Freed by Omission in Ohio Indictment
Medina April 29 The omission of a word from a Medina county grand jury indictment likely saved Joe Mellert of York from prison. Mellert shot at Geo Ulmer near Mellert's home. the April grand jury charged shooting with intent to kill and with intent to wound, under Ohio law. Since the bullet did not strike Ulmer, the case could have yielded an assault and battery verdict if the indictment had stood as written. The case stalled after Ulmer and his son-in-law testified, and the jury was discharged without further action.

Hounds Ride Through Village to Creaton Cover
H. J. Eady recalls a Northamptonshire hunting day with the Pytheley hounds. The hunt moved from Creaton to Cottesbrook, Mosshell, and Shutterdown, passing near John F. Eady’s farm and through Kelmarsh and Blueberry. Spectators in Elyria note the rare sight, including a young girl on a pony, and praise the roads and countryside, reflecting on boyhood fields once farmed by their father.
