Lake Shore Released From Two Mortgages for 50 Million

The Lake Shore railroad secures release from two mortgages totaling 50 million dollars. The first mortgage dated July 1, 1870, and the second October 15, 1873 covered the railway’s realty in Ohio and beyond. Release dated January 19, 1995, signed by Edward King and J B B Thayer, notes the instrument’s significance and lists counties of record including Chautauqua and Erie in New York and Cook in Illinois.

Police Drag Net Recovers Eleven in Court Monday

Eleven police court cases heard Monday morning. Henry Manigen pleaded not guilty to a Saturday night fight with Tricky Klein. Flo pleaded not guilty. case continued. Klein fined 85. Fines of 5 and costs assessed for intoxication and disorderly conduct for Polisky, South, Sauer, John Public, John Thomas, Bickell, McQarty and Ryan. Royan, charged with disorderly conduct, was released on bond but forfeited when he failed to appear.

Police detain D. B. Eddy for prosecution by the Birmingham orphanage superintendent. Eddy arrived intoxicated with a boy and girl who ran away from the orphanage. The couple faced a $20 fine and costs they could not pay, and were sent to the Cleveland institution connected to Birmingham.

Mrs Elizabeth King died last night at the home of her brother Henry Perking. She suffered from rheumatism and was aged 69. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o clock.

Bank Wreckers Not Arraigned in Court

The Loram bank wreckers were not arraigned Monday as lawyers for Kaneen and the Walkers planned to plead guilty. Prosecutor Stroup was informed they would plead guilty to the indictment, so no plea was taken yet. Arraignment is set for Wednesday morning with immediate sentencing expected after the plea.

The pardon board has asked Elyria police for the record of Robert Rainey an eighteen year old Elyria youth in the Illinois penitentiary. Rainey son of Jack Rainey is sought by authorities as the board reviews his pardon application. Police report Rainey has three brothers in the state reformatory.
