GRAfter Henry Worden Seriously Injured in Lake Shore Yards
Henry Worden a 22 year old grafting laborer from Mentor Ohio suffered a broken left leg near the undercut crossing in Lake Shore yards around midnight Tuesday. He was found by a yardman and taken to Wert Avenue hospital after ambulance transport. Worden boarded at the American House while working in the area.

Death of an Aged Colored Woman in Oberlin
Mrs. Abram Chambers, an elderly Black resident born into slavery, died in Oberlin Monday at 6 am after a prolonged illness of paralysis and heart trouble. She lived in Oberlin 38 years, estimated age about 75, having previously resided in Cleveland after emancipation. Her husband, a former slave, worked as a carpenter. Chambers had adopted and educated a daughter who became a noted singer and wife of the late Rev Tolliver.

The grand jury meets at the court house. The first case is James Butler charged with shooting Riley Black at Oberlin a couple of months ago. The panel expects to be in session for a couple of weeks. Mary E Mowbray’s divorce from her husband was granted by Judge Kohler on grounds of gross neglect of duty. Peter Kohnz’s remains arrived from Santa Fe New Mexico. he died after leaving Avon March 12 and traveling for health. He was 47, leaves a wife and five children, and served as township justice and German school teacher. Minnie becomes his replacement at the school, and Oar fills Minnie’s post. Flossie Norton hosted a party Friday night. Mrs John Carter of Sheffield died last week. funeral Saturday. She was sister to Mrs Bessie Clifton. Lorain voters elected eighteen Republicans to twenty two offices in the first election under the new code. Mayor F J King and J J Mahony were re elected.
