Captain Worth, who sought an investigation into his brokerage, was not called before the grand jury as it wrapped its Lorain bucket shop inquiry. Prosecutor Stroup said Worth’s testimony was not deemed necessary though Worth welcomed scrutiny of his stock dealings.
Contractors failed to meet board requirements for bids on the East side building and heating apparatus. The board rejected all bids, citing nonconformity, with costs estimated at 10,000 though bids ranged from 9,100 to 11,000 and a re advertisement was planned to enforce compliance and deter irregular bidding practices.
Judge Nye urged Labor Lyceum members to study the lives of wealthy individuals to learn wealth building. He advised tracking expenses, avoiding liquor and cigars, buying necessities first, and creating an asset base. He urged home ownership, real estate investment, and reading biographies of notable figures.

Conuissarian A. R. Webster appointed Stewart A. Manahan of Norwalk a naval cadet at Annapolis. Manahan, last year’s high school senior, is the son of J. Manahan of Norwalk.

They complain of noise, oil and waste on the street and threaten injunctions if the nuisance is not abated. The company may build new car barns, but no location or date is given.
Thomas O'Brien faced court on a charge of failing to keep his children in school. He was fined 35 dollars plus costs, with a bond for 198 dollars required to ensure Billy and Francis attend school, ending the dispute and restoring compliance.
