Amana Ga February 22 Sunday the body of Dr Samuel Bailey was buried in the small Gumming cemetery between the graves of his two daughters Mrs Bla Beck and Miss Addie Bailey. They were murdered by Eugene Beck in October 1884. The elder Bailey learned of the tragedy only when entering the room where the bodies lay. Beck, a man of means, wooed Miss Nila Bailey in 1883. Addie, about to wed, visited her sister in Clayton and learned of her sister’s unhappiness. The night before Addie returned home Beck learned she planned to leave and murdered both sisters as they slept. Beck feigned insanity. Dr Bailey was summoned and told the awful facts.
