Teen Safety Group forms rules in Corning area
Corning area teens select six members to draft a constitution for a new Teen-Age Safety Council. Twenty students from three high schools met at the Corning Youth Bureau to launch the group with Donna Asiello as chair. Members include CFA students Thomas Marmor LeRoy Monroe and Eileen Galusha and Painted Post reps Jim Wilson Mildred Meikle. The panel will meet Monday and the full council meets January 6 at 4 30 P M at the Youth Bureau. Police Lt William S Nelson backs teen driver education efforts.

Bath authorities investigate the death of Burt Levey 69 a Bath Veterans Administration Center resident whose body was found in the Conho ct on River near the VA Center. Coroner Dr James J Sanford of Bath leads the inquiry. Levey formerly of Syracuse had lived at the VA since November and is survived by two sons Howard Selinger of Lima Ohio Norman Selinger of Kittery Ohio and daughter Muriel Pepper of Syracuse. Autopsy plans were not announced.

Mrs. William F incapher of 10 Corning Blvd leads Family Night caroling in Houghton Park. Residents meet at Kent Phillips School at 7 30 p m for singing and end at 8 30 p m at the park Christmas tree. Waverly Board of Education approved hiring Reginald Em pie as a physical education teacher at Waverly High School until February 1 1960 and possibly through the current school year. St Josephs Parish of Morris Run hosted a Christmas party for more than 156 children from Morris Run Blossburg and nearby areas. Women of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine served lunch as Miss Shirley Benderman chaired a Christmas program. A play titled The Toys Change Their Mind was performed by 15 parish children.
