Suit Filed Against Hunter and Banks

Robert Shepard filed a district court suit against the firm Hunter and Banks seeking $10,000 for injuries to his leg suffered July 15 in a hay field while operating a mowing machine. Mexicans Attack American Troops Near Brownsville

Mexicans attacked Ojo De Agua about sixty miles north of Brownsville killing Sergeant Schaffer and privates McConnell and Joyce. Reinforcements rushed to the scene as the bandits fled leaving five dead and one wounded. The villagers were surrounded and the fighting involved eight U S soldiers with rifles and seven with revolvers. The Yanaga ranch at Sebastian was burned.

Gets Nine Years for Moonshining in Arkansas Court

John Caspar a Kansas City distiller was sentenced to nine years and three days in the penitentiary and to pay a fine of thirty three hundred dollars for moonshining. Henry Brown an ex government ganger drew two years and a thousand dollar fine. Others received lighter sentences.

Paris Oct 21 German efforts to pierce the French lines east of Rheims failed after a violent dense attack. Three attempts were made along a five mile front. Artillery and machine guns decimated the Germans. The German night attack at Ross Givenchy and the attack at East Moncel were repulsed.
