Washington October 12. The administration shows evident haste to complete Carranza recognition. It is unlikely new ambassadors will be appointed. A formal White House statement is expected soon. A munitions embargo on the Villistas is practically in effect.
Rollie York, wanted in California for counterfeiting, was arrested in Ogden Utah on October 12. Another member of the gang was arrested in Ohio yesterday. Thousands of counterfeit five dollar gold coins are reported to have been passed on the Pacific coast.
United Press dispatch from Nish reports the Austro German army halts along the Danube Save and Drina with no progress except near Belgrade. Servians recapture Dedi Jonte while forces along the Danube are repulsed between Flava and the Morava mouth.
President Davidson of the San Diego exposition telephoned from Washington that President Wilson would be unable to attend the exposition. Mrs. H. Morgan Hill left for Washington to spend the winter at her home there and will return next summer.
