Nelson and John A. Custer filed final proofs to homesteads in the Lamoille district. Each takes a one line tract of 160 acres with cultivated land and diverse crops. The brothers are described as shrewd landholders who plan to raise produce for retail value, feeding their stock from their holdings.
Word arrived that the infant son of Mr and Mrs Woo Critchley died in Reno Nevada at one o clock Thursday night The family lived in Imnay where Mr Critchley works as a Southern Pacific agent The baby fell ill about ten days ago and was taken to Reno for treatment but died despite loving care The bereaved couple receive sympathy from friends and the community as the funeral is planned for 2 o clock Sunday afternoon at the Critchley residence
Mr and Mrs J J Workman arrive from Divide Elko County and plan to spend the winter in National. Leases at Divide will continue work, but ore shipment will wait until spring due to heavy snowfall. Trembath Chyimpton Jolson & McCrinimin Riga leases show fine prospects with assay results including two ounces gold and 285 ounces silver. one vein sample across a one foot section yielded considerable silver.
The Elko Draper Club met yesterday at the Hotel Mayor parlors with no attendees aside from officers and a few guests. News of the death of Mrs. J B Curry of Tuscarora comes this morning. A well known resident for about twenty years she was born in Boston and had visited in Ike. Heart trouble caused the immediate death. Her loss is mourned by a wide circle of friends. She was a kind woman and loving wife and her passing leaves the town in sorrow.
A westward suitor asks Fall River postmaster to help locate an eastern girl for marriage. He describes himself as 5 feet 4 inches, 185 pounds, 24 years old, and asks for a match with a woman from Fall River or nearby, noting Nevada men outnumber women.
