Nevada Silver Service train operation named Mizpah of Supt. W D Forster on the Tonopah and Goldfield Railroad opens to the public this morning in Elko and is visited by hundreds.
The silver service for the battleship Nevada, a gift from Nevadans, toured towns on the Mizpah private car. Lieutenant Governor Maurice Sullivan, C it Reimer, and William Epstein presented and explained the pieces to thousands, including many schoolchildren, with the car planned to visit Winnemucca Sparks Reno and more before a continental journey and official presentation to Nevada’s officers.
At Ivy Rebekah Lodge in Elke Mrs. William Keane president of the Nevada Rebekah Assembly gave a silver knife set as a token of esteem. Mrs. Hartin praised the presentation and Mrs. Kennett shed tears. A banquet and dance followed with about seventy five attendees. The article details intricate Nevada and Navy insignia on the centerpiece and matching pieces, including seals, landscapes, and a Lincoln engraving.
