Pershing Seizes Mexican Railroad Reported

The report from San Antonio says General Pershing may have seized the Mexican railroad near Madecan Grandes three days ago. Another dispatch notes a possible transfer of Villa followers to the American expeditionary forces and casts doubt on a full seizure. Lindfield liner torpedoed and sunk in Atlantic loss

A damaged wartime wire report says the Westin Stormer Lindfield, a liner bound from Astoria Oregon to England with war supplies, was torpedoed and sunk. The Norwegian freighter Bramark and the British steamer Sea Serpent were also reported sunk. crews rescued from both ships.
