New York March 7 On February 19 Japan sent an ultimatum to China demanding China declare war on Germany or Japan will seize all iron works and iron deposits in China and occupy Teutonic settlements. It also threatens confiscation of Austrian and German property in China.
The death of Mrs Sophie Housel occurred on December 5 in Salt Lake City. Born in Starr Valley she was 31 years nine months old and left a husband five children and many relatives in Elk County. The cause was acute blood poisoning and mourners follow the deceased.
