In British headquarters at France on June 22 American doctors and nurses with several enlisted men have taken over six British field hospitals in the last two weeks, relieving British staffs for frontline duty.
Judge and Mrs. B F Curler announce their son Ben Vogel Curler arrived safely in Bordeaux France aboard the Espagne from New York on the nineteenth. He is among Stanford University men to join the ambulance corps and expects to be sent to the front soon as he enlisted for service.
Washington reports that men registered on June 5 under the selective draft law may enlist in the U S Marines before their military service selection. Those who failed to register will not be accepted. Marine Corps HQ says the force aims for 30 000 by month's end with a waiting list afterward.
