Governor Boyle stated Nevada would be on the job if called, preparing a militia under the army reorganization act to a peace strength potentially surpassing 600 men. Coyote Bites Man While Asleep Near Skelton

Victor Achabal, 34, a William Moore ranch hand about 60 miles from Skelton, was bitten by a suspected rabid coyote while sleeping in an open shed. He received first aid in Elko, then was sent to Reno for a critical rabies examination. the coyote escaped. Achabal is married with two brothers in the area.

Kennett Seeks Democratic Nomination for Supreme Court Clerk

William Kennett a popular Elko figure with roots in Indiana and Chicago aims for the clerkship of the supreme court. A former court reporter and later bookkeeper he and his wife Mrs. Kennett are active in local and state circles. He began in Salt Lake City with Utah Copper and moved to Elko after being appointed court reporter by Judge Taber.
