Nine Thousand Men Called for Aerial Production

Cadet Party Pleads for US Expedition to Russia

The central committee of the Cadet party forwarded an appeal to the United States to dispatch an expeditionary force to Russia to repel the German invaders. It was transmitted to the State Department by the Russian embassy and asks that any expedition be placed under international control.

Draft dodger’s ether cure confuses officers in Atlanta

In Atlanta on June 10 a Georgia selectman, described as a Negro, was examined for draft concerns. He claimed years of spinal deformity but after a high ether dose he briefly stood straight and walked normally, then reverted to a grotesque posture declaring the medicine had cured him.

Nevada Asked to Send Twenty-Five Nurses

Nevada is asked to supply twenty five of the 15000 nurses for army service according to Red Cross information. Two have already signified their intention to enlist. The drive is at the request of the army surgeon general who says this many nurses are needed to care for the men before next January.
