Washington reports from confidential sources say the administration credits Germany with good faith regarding submarine policy especially the Arabic. The danger is thought nearly over though nothing is written. Diplomats warn that distancing from Germany risks friction with England and an arms embargo may be required.

United Press dispatch from Athens reports political leaders expect Greece to sever relations with Turkey and possibly declare war. Venizelos government plans a strong protest to Turkey over renewed persecutions of Greeks in Asia Minor. Some 300000 Greeks have been driven from homes into the interior as tensions rise. Turkish arrogance grows as they expect German aid. Athens is inflamed.

After nearly four decades of residence on homesteads in southern Elko county the Walthers family Valentine Joseph and Fred of Sherman win proof in the United States land office. The land was long unsurveyed and later became part of the Ruby Forest reserve but at last they will receive title to their land.
At Deeth Mercantile Co a claimed world’s largest egg sits in the display. The Rhode Island Red hen owned by Mr Black produced the egg weighing a little over six ounces with a nine inch circumference along the longest axis and middle girth of three and eight tenths inches. A W P dining car van was caught disposing of goods near a chop house and allegedly tried to move ten dozen items.
Berlin August 28 United Press reports an official denial that an English aviator singly sank a German submarine off Ostend. The submarine returned to harbor undamaged and the note adds Germany received the sub’s report within 24 hours, contrasting a claim about another sinking.
David Higgins returns as Joe Braxton in a stage to screen adaptation of His Last Dollar at the Bradley Opera House. District Attorney Carville led three suits against the Wells Fargo company for delinquent taxes years 1912 1913 and 1914 seeking 901 4070 and 1080 dollars. Similar suits will be filed next week to prevent voiding by statutes of limitation. Humboldt county had a similar suit with a judgment evaded in district court. The case was appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court and the judgment sustained. The company then appealed to the U S Supreme Court whose decision will govern this county case.
Countywide enthusiasm for the agricultural exhibit grows as districts plan displays of grains fruits and vegetables. Starr Valley ranchers and Metropolis dry farmers pledge strong entries. The exhibit will use the new fire house 25 by 70 feet and may be shipped to the state fair with an accompanying attendant to ensure proper presentation.
Berlin reports Austro German forces renew offensive in Galicia after weeks of inactivity. General Von Linsengen breached Russian lines at the Zlota Lipa and occupied the Narew. A British warship bombarded Ostend Bruges and Middle Kerk in Belgium with unimpressive damage.
Berlin dispatch reports a German submarine destroyed a benzole explosives and artillery factory in England. The same submarine then attacked a passenger steamer, which fired cannons in defense. The notice comes from the Daily Independent.
