Royal Edward Torpedoed With 600 Rescued in Aegean

London reports the former Canadian Northern Liner Royal Edward was torpedoed by a German submarine in the Aegean Sea last Thursday. Six hundred aboard were saved, about a thousand believed lost. The liner carried 1350 soldiers, 32 officers, and 220 crew. a steel 11000 ton vessel, 526 feet long.
