The Tribune says the Pontiff acted independently and the Entente may receive the proposals with deference. Washington officials await the official text before replying, admitting an answer is needed. Allies are believed to reject the offer in its current form.
According to Assessor Weathers the tax list shows a heavy drop in stock with over eleven thousand cattle and more than fourteen thousand sheep lost last winter. Cattle fell from 169,836 to 98,128 and sheep from 185,069 to 161,488, indicating a combined value loss of 467,186.
