Indian Ham Blaine was found guilty of drunken behavior in Judge Castle's court yesterday and sentenced to sixty days in the county jail. The local lodge of the Order of Eastern Star held a successful gathering with Mrs D C McDonald of Ely as worth grand matron. Initiation work was exemplified and a banquet followed honoring the distinguished visitor, who praised Elko's chapter and enjoyed the visit.
The Landa Brothers, new owners of the Misin dairy from Charley Keas, consolidate with the Elko dairy at the Russell ranch west of town adding thirty Jersey cows from the Elgin dairy. Experienced dairymen with modern equipment, they aim for strong local success. Garcia plans a race track development across Humboldt River with a 500 tree park and a speedway, bidding for trotting and Grand Prix events in Elko.
Thieves entered the Pratt home on Railroad Street last night between 8 and 11 o'clock while Mr and Mrs Pratt were in California. Fred Dornberg occupied a room as caretaker and found scattered contents. Entry was made by breaking a back door glass and unlocking the door. Police have no clues and conduct a wide search for the culprits with little likelihood of arrests soon.
