Thrown From His Seat in Street Car Hack Accident
Hackman Harvey Flowers was badly bruised but escaped serious injury after a street hack collision with a street car at Hotel Bucklen corner. While transporting four passengers from Lake Shore to Big Four depot and driving fast due to lateness, his back wheels struck the track, throwing him to the pavement and under the horses. He suffered cuts on his right arm and face, but resumed control of the hack after the incident.

Matthew R Parrott of 913 South Third street died at 7 Sunday morning from paralysis after six months bedfast and over a year house confined. A Lake Shore switchman for years he later served as watchman in G. Conn's instrument factory. He was a Civil War veteran survived by two children Lorin and Mrs Walter Parrott. Funeral at 2 Tuesday.

Inter-Urban Derailed Near Mishawaka Under Suspicion
An interurban electric car left the rails near Mishawaka Saturday night with all wheels off the track but did not overturn. Passengers were frightened but none injured. Suspicious circumstances suggest an attempted wreck and wagon parts were found between the rails. The line was blocked about an hour. Elderly railroad agent killed near Fairland Michigan
A Mathews, agent for the Benton Harbor Elkhart line at Fairland a flag station north of Elkhart, was killed Saturday night when struck by the Benton Harbor Elkhart accommodation. His body was found Sunday. He rode a railway velocipede between Niles and Fairland and left behind a widow and several grown children. Engineer Charles Shugar did not realize the collision until after returning to Niles.

Strange horse mystery tied to Elkhart County pair
In Catlin Illinois a strange horse and buggy prompted Sheriff Elliott's inquiry. Harvey Cripe and his companion Peter Franger reportedly hitched Cripe's wife’s horse to a carriage and intended to flee west. They sold the outfit for forty dollars after plans to sell it for 375 failed. The pair, said to head for Arkansas to work in a lumber camp, disappeared with Cripe a Goshen man married to his cousin. Franger, about 22, has family in Stump Town.
