A dated plea dated February 1 1896 from a man calling himself Bikhart of Indiana City proposing marriage to a milliner. He offers help in the shop and daily domestic duties and requests the recipient wear a tall feathered hat to signal acceptance by April. He describes himself as 5 feet 9 inches tall 185 pounds aged about 55 and a mechanist by trade.
The Democratic State Central Committee declares the 1885 apportionment act as the remaining lawful basis for electing senators in 1896. It urges citizens to support this policy, condemns the current General Assembly, and calls for cross party cooperation to prevent constitutional confusion. Sterling R. Hot chairs the committee. W.B. Vanderlip advertises Fowler wheel.
